Langston Barnett grew up in the shadow of tragedy, losing both of his parents at a young age alongside his brother Vaughn and cousin Taylor Fortune. Following their loss, Langston and Vaughn were raised by their uncle, Khaleel Proffit, whose influence would shape many aspects of their future.

Unlike his brother, Langston found an outlet for his grief and frustration through combat. His fierce determination and willingness to confront challenges head-on quickly became defining traits. As he grew older, those around him began to recognize both his potential and the intensity that fueled him, often drawing comparisons to Taylor's father, Denard Fortune.

Recognizing opportunity where others saw uncertainty, Langston immediately understood the possibilities surrounding Taylor's ambitions and the expanding influence of the UnderShadow world. Driven by a desire to test his limits and prove himself, he devoted himself to developing both his physical abilities and his strategic mindset.

Beyond his talent for combat, Langston possessed a remarkable ability to identify potential in others. He assembled a group of highly intelligent outsiders, each bringing unique technological skills and expertise. What began as a collection of individuals gradually evolved into a tightly connected team, strengthened through adversity, trust, and shared experiences.

Throughout the UnderShadow universe, Langston's journey explores the balance between strength and control, aggression and leadership, as he forges his own path alongside those closest to him.
